Compact Living
As a continuation of the renovation of the 90s mid terrace, the downstairs environment was where the main focus was applied. Originally the downstairs had a long hallway, separate kitchen, and reasonable sized lounge / living room.
After identifying that a lot of space was lot on just having a long hallway, it was soon realised that by reducing the size of the hall and opening up the kitchen into the lounge it was possible to still have the same sized kitchen but gain a dinning room and under stairs cupboard.
Thankfully the walls was timber stud and plasterboard, which meant none of the downstair walls were supporting. Meaning no metal lintels were required. Once opened up a new corner was created to block off the hallway and the Kitchen door became the main entry point to the newly created lounge. The ceilings and walls were all re-plastered then Kitchen, fixtures and fittings added with a good lick of paint to bring the clients vision to life.
While the physical room was only 1m 50cm x 2m 50cm which had a dorma window; the time was mainly spent on tiling and ensure everything lined up correctly.
In addition to this a bespoke cut smoked mirror was installed opposite the bath along with IP65 Electrical down lighter spots to elevate the luxury nature of the project.
