2022
The Foundation
MHH Creative Ltd was formed
2024
First Clients and Project
After years of planning and setup, we secure several new clients and between them were commissioned to produce several garden items and structures from reclaimed timbers
2024
First Major Project
In late 2024, we won a 5 month project to build, design, procure and fit-out what would be a high-end garden pub
2024
First On-Going Project
In Summer we started working with a client who already had a well established garden. The initial works included a new bespoke shed and log store along with an irrigated walled planter that harvested rain water.
2025
Second On-Going Project
Off the back of the garden pub project we co-currently delivered a garden make-over which has included a under cover seating area with bespoke seating / bespoke decking / and custom wood heated hot-tub

Our Story
My Homely House (MHH) is a trading name of MHH Creative Limit (MHHCL) and was setup in 2022.
MHH came into being of the back of a passion that both Directors, Nathan and Damien have for both internal and external design / furniture renovation and DIY.
Having renovated several houses for themselves and others; they realised they had a creative talent for turning the unloved into the desirable.
Nathan has a passion for anything that can be built, repaired, up-cycled, renovated or restored. He mainly works with wood and to date has tackled stripping furniture and re-french polishing; to laying oak floors; building garden features (including bespoke sheds and cabins); hanging doors; to fitting kitchens, bathrooms, showers etc.
Damien has a keen interest in gardening from the planning, implementation and delivery, to the maintenance and improvement. Alongside that he enjoys painting both internal / external using emulsion, to gloss and everything in between / upcycling items / interior design and layouts.
Between them both they cover a lot of ground within the realms of garden and house design and maintenance.
Their knowledge and interest was initially born from needing to learn after they found they would pay a lot for very little and the quality of workmanship was unsatisfactory; meaning they often re-did tasks themselves. Over many years, having worked on both their own and other friends and family projects they built up a strong working knowledge and portfolio of
skills.
Given their experience, while they do not know everything, they are more than confident to tackle most challenges set before them and where their knowledge base lacks; they have built up a book of trusted 3rd party contractors who they can recommend when needed; meaning you will be looked after throughout the delivery of your project.

In Sept 2025 we launch our new website. To date all our work has been word of mouth and personal recommendation but we are looking to expand.

We love to up-cycle and refurbish and repurpose items. Sometimes it takes a fresh pair of eyes to spot and unlock hidden potential.

Our Vision
The History
The directors behind MHH are not from a traditional construction background and entered the sector after owning several properties and found that in the early days; they often commissioned others to do various DIY tasks but often found the work unsatisfactory and or overcharged for the simplest of tasks and or materials.
Eventually both Directors had enough of paying over the odds for things and decided that they would take the time to learn and teach themselves the skills to do things for themselves. Over several years, they brought the correct tools, ‘learnt’ on the job by either getting tuition from others / watching YouTube and or simply rolling their sleeves up and giving it a try.
Events of 2020 pushed them to take the next step and in 2022 MHH Creative Limited was launched. Since then they have tackled a variety of internal and external DIY tasks, from tiling, laying solid floors, new kitchens and bathrooms, plastering, painting and decorating to name all but a few skills. Along the way they have also built up a ‘trusted’ network of 3rd party sub-contractors that they can recommend if they do not have the experience to provide a solution.
The mission of both directors is to provide a service that is high on quality, respectful on cost and the outcome has longevity. This is why materials are charged at cost, with the focus being on skill base and quality.

How we Operate
With all projects, ‘the devil is within the detail’ and the key to achieving a successful project outcome is understanding all the variables.
This process starts with an initial consultation where we ask you a lot of questions to ensure we have understood your project thoroughly. With nearly all projects, a site visit to inspect the site is required so that we can measure up, spot any potential concerns and or suggest ideas that help improve the overall result.
Following on from the site visit, notes will be typed up to provide you with an overview of what was discussed and will form the basis of the project and estimated costs. Accompanying it will be a breakdown of costs for your review.
Upon receiving instruction to proceed and mobilise, MHH will then start to plan the project in more detail looking at details like scaled drawings if required / procuring materials and formally book in a start date.
During the project, MHH will provide ‘incremental’ invoices which are provided on a daily basis. Incremental Invoices are for your records only and provides you with the opportunity to check and query any charges you are not happy with as well as helping you to keep track with the expenditure. ‘Incremental’ invoices at this stage are not payable.
Once either 1 weeks work onsite or the project has been completed; a final invoice will be sent which will be then be payable.
Post project MHH will encourage you to provide feedback so that they can continue to learn and improve their services; with your permission your project may feature on their website and social media platforms.
