This building once used to serve as a residential home for disabled and special needs individuals. It was granted permission to be convert from hospital to residential. The entire building was completely stripped out and new everything was installed.
This is one of many high end projects we completed for this client. The particular challenges for this project was the physical space as it only measured 1m 40cm square.
In the left hand corner was the main sewer pipe for the building along with the mains water supply. Due to the tight positioning of the pipework along with access to the stop-cocks it made the project even more challenging.
Adding to the complexity, the flooring had the polystyrene WonderFlooring heating system installed under it. So anything going on top of the floor had to be as light as possible. Along side that the hung toilet also had to be raised up beyond the normal height for a toilet to allow the owner ease of use due to decreasing range of movement.
The solution was to create a bespoke wooden frame that would effectively hang from the wall which applied little to no weight through the floor. Through several stages of the installation we checked the structural integrity of the work to ensure perfect alignment and fitting.
The ceiling was re-plastered and a LED lit vented square extractor fan installed along with a 3 tier chandelier.
Once all the tiling was done we added some grab rails to the installation to assist the client with mobility and movement.
