Restoring the shine
This garden stool was about 50 years old and held great sentimental value to owners as they remember their dad making this from off cuts of mahogany wood as children.
The stool was stripped then sanded to expose all the timbers. During the stripping process it was found that both cross beams on the legs had rotted and were no longer salvageable.
After creating two new cross members using the same wood it was sanded again with a fine grade paper and then any chips / dents filled and then sanded before painting.
With the amount of preservation work undertaken with a bit of luck, it will last another 50 years.
